It's Been a Very, Very Grey Summer

The summer of 2012 is officially over, and looking back, all I can say is this: it's been a very grey summer.  But I mean that in a good way.

Ever since the Shades of Grey trilogy, what we sell has really changed. Melrose Urban Female has seen many seasons change, but product demand was always the same.  Come rain or shine, snow or sleet, our customers have bought vibrators and dildos. And typically it was women buying for themselves.

But since those books, I can just look at an order and know exactly what the inspiration is.  We have never sold so many beads and balls, whips and ropes! Bondage is typically a male fantasy, but now it seems to be everyone's fantasy.  Women are buying these products.   However, it does seem the men are still the real shoppers when it comes to this.  But for the first time, guys seem to have the nod of approval from their female partners, and they are like kids in a candy store.

It's hard to say what the fall will bring.  But we will keep our bondage department stocked. You never know... people might still be feeling "grey."
